A few reminders:
If I received your automobile info by Sunday, June 27th, I have included a base pass for you. You will not have to stop at the front gate visitor center.
If you plan to drive aboard Camp Lejeune, remember to have (1) your car registration, (2) valid driver’s license, and (3) proof of insurance. While we hoped to make obtaining a Base visitor’s pass as simple as possible, due to technological glitches this didn’t always happen and I apologize. Without a pass, you will need to budget about 30 minutes for the visitor center stop and may only enter the base through the front gate. You WILL need those 3 documents. Remember to obey all traffic laws (seat belts, no cell phones, and speed limits); yes, they are still strictly enforced. The base is also very strict about DUI’s. There are military police gates at Midway Park, Tarawa Terrace and Knox Mobile Home Park, so passes are required to enter these areas as well.
Jeanette Martinez, the treasurer, and Lisa Beavers, class of 1988 and the party planner, are employees of Lejeune High School which is currently on summer break. If you have questions, the easiest way is to contact Lisa Beavers is by email at webmaster@lejeunealumni.com. If you call 910-451-2451, or Lejeune High School, we may not get the message for a few days.
Reunion T-shirt sales were poor so we refunded the money we had received as of Monday, June 28th (all others will be refunded as they are received). Lejeune High School PTO will be selling LHS apparel during registration.
Please keep in mind, that while we say Lejeune High School Reunion Committee, there isn’t really one. We are basically a 2 woman show with support from a few key alumni you see mentioned as points of contact and a few awesome Lejeune High Staff members. We appreciate your patience and kind words. If you would like to take over the 2015 All Class Reunion, we would be happy to turn it over to you. Please just let us know!
See you in a few days!
Lisa and Jeanette
YOU ASKED FOR IT
Remember you asked to have an open reunion every five years! Well, here it comes again! What an undertaking this has been, but we hope that you can “come back home”, enjoy this weekend, and renew “old” friendships. Read on for information about transportation, motels, and the schedule of the planned activities. If you have any questions concerning any of the activities, please contact Lisa Beavers at LHS by e-mail: webmaster@lejeunealumni.com, phone: 910-451-2451 ext. 224, or fax 910-451-3262. Here you can obtain “REUNION 2010” information, register for the reunion, register your e-mail address, update your alumni records, and catch up on the latest LHS or alumni news, and send messages concerning the reunion. PLEASE REGISTER AND PAY ONLINE as the preferred method.
COST
The cost of the reunion will be $40.00 per person ($80.00 per couple). There will be a LATE FEE of $10 per person charged for registrations not received by June 1, 2010 (Late fee will need to be paid directly to Alumni Association during event). The cost of the reunion include the meal and dance on Saturday, set up and clean up of all buildings to be used, secretarial and printing costs, postage, processing, and Alumni awards. We hope to be able to keep a balance for maintaining the websiteand so we can have funds to start up the next reunion in 2015. You may register online and pay fees using PayPal. This allows you to pay by credit card. Checks should be made out to: Lejeune High Alumni Association. If you choose to register through the website but pay by a check, we must receive BOTH your registration and check for you to be “officially registered”. A list of those registered and attending the reunion will be posted and updated on the alumni website. Refunds will be given upon written request up to June 15, 2010 or in special cases after that date.
SUPER IMPORTANT-PLEASE HELP US, HELP YOU AND REUNION 2010
PLEASE-PLEASE-REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!! We need to make specific plans for a successful reunion, and we need to find out how many alumni plan to attend as soon as possible to make arrangements for facilities and food. HELP NEEDED
Would you like to
…..be a “class contact” for your class? Help locate your class members and plan any class or “decade” activities for Friday, July 9 or Sunday, July 11. Use the “reunion links” on the alumni web page to track down friends who may have registered on another alumni site.
….help contact other LHS graduates and former students who may not have been notified of the reunion? We hope the alumni web site will be the future means of communication for not only reunions but also for reconnecting with friends. Remember, www.lejeunealumni.com
….send in the names of classmates and teachers who are deceased? We would like to include them in our “ALUMNI MEMORY BOOK”.
….help put together a class scrapbook, picture board, design picture nametags from your yearbook, etc?
REMEMBER
Your Alumni Association Planning Committee has provided this information for your use. Each person will be responsible for arranging all travel, lodging and meals. The Alumni Association will not be responsible for any arrangements or facilities for lodging, meals, or travel. The commercial establishments listed are for your convenience only. We do not endorse or recommend any particular facility or services.

LIST OF MOTELS
We have set up several motels with special rates for the reunion. In the past we have chosen some hotels to serve as “Decade Headquarters”, but with the economy we want you to chose where you want to stay based on cost as well as rewards you have in place. You must call the local number of the motel for the reduced alumni rates; not the 800 numbers. The discounted rates will be held until June 1st so register early if you want to guarantee a room. You might go on line and check for better rates. Please make your reservations early and remember to say that you are with “Lejeune High School Reunion” for the special rates.

LEJEUNE SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
The Lejeune Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to encourage academic excellence and promote good citizenship. The Foundation is exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Service Code as an organization described in section 501 (c) (3). Contributions are tax deductible.
Scholarships are provided to any Lejeune High School student who completes 50 hours of community service for each year of high school and maintains a 3.55
grade point average. The amount of the awards is determined annually based on the number of eligible recipients and the funds available. Over the past ten years, we have awarded over sixty scholarships to very worthy students.
LSF is inviting you to PLAY A ROUND WITH US!!! We are sponsoring an Alumni Golf Tournament for Friday, July 9th, tee off at 9 am. The entry fee for players is $65.00 per person or $260 per team. Our goal is to collect $300.00 from businesses/organizations as "hole sponsors" for the tournament. If an organization desires to sponsor a hole and also provide a team, the cost is $500.00. Our final objective is to have all 18 holes sponsored for the tournament, and have at least 18 teams in the tournament. Obviously, we expect to have co-sponsors for some holes, as many organizations will sponsor part of a hole. You can register online @ http://www.lejeunealumni.com/golf/golfform.php
The profits from the Alumni Reunion t-shirts sales also benefit the Lejeune Scholarship Foundation.
T-shirts and sweatshirts may be ordered online via the alumni website. Thanks for your continued support of Lejeune High School students.

HALL OF DISTINCTION
The Hall of Distinction was established to recognize former students, alumni, faculty and staff members who have distinguished themselves at Lejeune High School through outstanding academic or athletic achievements or in their career and lifetime achievements.
Any student who has attended Camp Lejeune/Lejeune High School for a minimum of one year or a faculty or staff member must have a minimum of 15 years uninterrupted affiliation with the high school is eligible to be nominated. If a faculty or staff member joined the high school in mid-career and departed prior to obtaining the 15 years of uninterrupted affiliation, that person would not become eligible for nomination until they have been removed from the system five years after their tenure at the high school.
Funds must be procured through donations from CLHS/LHS alumni and/or the business community. There are no school funds available. Funding would include the purchase of appropriate plaques/awards for the inductees and the establishment of a "Hall of Distinction" in the high school to include picture plaques and biographies of the inductees each year. Contributions can be made payable to: Lejeune Alumni Association; please designate for "Hall of Distinction."
Nomination forms are available at http://www.lejeunealumni.com/distinct.html . Please visit the Hall of Distinction in the entry to the Lejeune High School auditorium while you are at the reunion.
